The Avon Panthers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 77-36 victory over Rising Tide at home. The result was nothing new for Avon, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Leading Avon to victory were Nyisah Miranda and Josiah Guerrier. Miranda scored 18 points along with four steals, while Guerrier dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Miranda's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashad Bailey, who scored six points along with three steals.
Avon's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Rising Tide, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Avon will head out on the road to face off against Atlantis at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Atlantis and Avon are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Rising Tide, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Falmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
