Laurel extended their  winning streak to five games  thanks to a huge performance from  Kolton Carlson. The Spartans took their  matchup  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  45-7 win over the South Side Rams with plenty of help from  Carlson, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns, and also rushed for 128 yards and one  score on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Laurel's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:   Player #71,  Tyler Fuchs,  and  Dom Willis, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
Laurel's record is now 8-1. As for South Side,  with the  loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Laurel will  square off against  rival Neshannock  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. That  game will pit two of the most dominant  backs against one another:  Carlson and  Anthony Eakin. Meanwhile, South Side is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Rochester  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
