The Edison Vikings entered their tilt with the Linden Lions with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Edison blew past the Lions, posting a 85-28 win at home. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Lions are ranked 1092nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Edison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arthur Grady jr. led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damarcus Cobb Jr, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Edison is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Linden, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Edison won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Monterey Trail knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 24 games -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge. As for Linden, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Delta Kings at 7:30 p.m. Stagg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
