The South Side Hornet will face off against the Conway Christian Eagles at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
South Side is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They never let Mt. Vernon-Enola get on the board and left with  a   15-0  win  on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Hornet with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Jacob Mahan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

 In other batting news, South Side let  Haze Hulse and  Cody Kuykendoll run wild. Hulse  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while  Kuykendoll  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  Kuykendoll a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Case Walls, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 South Side was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive  matches.
Meanwhile, Conway Christian got the win against Hector  on Monday by a conclusive  15-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six  runs or more this season.
 Isaiah Brister and  Xander Stone made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Brister   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Stone   pitched two innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Brister has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat,  Brister  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while  Stone  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news, Conway Christian got a  massive  performance out of  Bryce Keathley, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Keathley also put up a  double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Ace Koehler, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 South Side pushed their record up to 8-6 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Conway Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
 South Side took their  win against Conway Christian  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2022 by a conclusive  14-4 score. Do  the Hornet have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
