Having just played yesterday, the Marshall Academy Griffons will get right back to it and host the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers at 6:00  p.m.  on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 On Thursday, Marshall Academy was beaten by Battle Creek Academy 53-10. The  loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marshall Academy in their matchups with Battle Creek Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
 Despite the  defeat, Marshall Academy had strong showings from  Amiah Poindexter, who  scored four points along with four  steals, and  Malia Taylor, who  scored four points along with four  steals.
 Meanwhile, St. Philip Catholic Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory  and fell  51-50 to Calhoun Christian.
 Marshall Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  bumped their record down to 2-5.
