The Discovery Titans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Meadowcreek Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Discovery lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Berkmar, falling 85-53. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Discovery in their matchups with Berkmar: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Meadowcreek pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-57 to North Gwinnett. While losing is never fun, Meadowcreek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while North Gwinnett is ranked 77th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Daron Sturdivant, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adonai Mussie, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Discovery dropped their record down to 2-22 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Meadowcreek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Discovery couldn't quite finish off Meadowcreek when the teams last played on Friday and fell 48-45. Can Discovery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
