The Rickards Raiders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Lincoln Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Rickards will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Lincoln is ranked 29th).
Two Fridays ago, Rickards came up short against Wakulla and fell 35-22. That means Rickards has now suffered back-to-back defeats.
Rickards' loss came about despite a quality game from A'Marion Wilson, who threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lincoln got themselves on the board against Leon on Friday, but Leon never followed suit. They really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-0 victory at home. Lincoln pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Leon had no chance of recovering from.
Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Sims, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown. Jashawn Washington was another key contributor, rushing for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Lincoln's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Leading the way was Chancy Jordan and his two sacks.
Lincoln's victory bumped their season record to 5-1 while Rickards' loss dropped theirs to 2-4.
Rickards beat Lincoln 19-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Rickards repeat their success, or does Lincoln have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
