Hogan Prep Charter (Kansas City, Mo.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 28-0 victory over
Van Horn (Independence, Mo.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Isaiah Baylis to
Edward Collins in the first quarter, the Rams were up 6-0 at the half.
Hogan Prep Charter grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. HPC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Kewaun Riley.
The loss snapped Van Horn's six-game winning streak.
The Kansas City school went into the matchup giving up only 6.0 points per game. The zero points that the Falcons ended with were well below their average of 30.2 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Van Horn, which notched a 63-6 victory over Summit Christian Academy in its previous outing.
Hogan Prep Charter (7-0) will play a non-conference game against Southwest Early College next week, while Van Horn (6-1) will take on Central also in a non-conference game.
