The Rampart Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They snuck past Falcon with a 74-68 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rampart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Theodore Wilson, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wilson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Melecio, who scored 18 points along with six assists.
Despite the loss, Falcon still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Potts, who scored 25 points along with six assists. The matchup was Potts' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Bertholf was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Rampart's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Falcon, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3.
Rampart will head out on the road to face off against Cherokee Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cherokee Trail is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Falcon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canon City at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Canon City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Falcon is ranked 100th).
