On Friday, Statesville Christian was beaten by Veritas Christian Academy 50-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Statesville Christian has scored all season.
Veritas Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Miller, who scored six points along with 11 steals and eight assists. Miller is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Nichols, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Statesville Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Statesville Christian will head out on the road to face off against Hickory Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickory Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Community Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
