Walsh has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Idalia Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Walsh had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They strolled past Briggsdale with points to spare, taking the game 29-14. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Walsh was the (much) better team in the second half.
Leyton Jones was his usual excellent self, rushing for 206 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.
Meanwhile, Idalia put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 55-0 victory over Eads. Winning may never get old, but Idalia sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Tarek Glanz and Kagen Hoyda were among the main playmakers for Idalia as the former threw for 159 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes and the latter picked up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Walsh is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Idalia, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Walsh commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Idalia struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.2 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
