At the plate, Calaveras got a big performance out of Carlee Jasper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Caydance Holloway, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Linden came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Blazers with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Katie Schallberger was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Alonso, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Linden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindhurst only posted an OBP of .300.
Linden pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Calaveras, their win bumped their record up to 16-7-1.
