Bishop O'Connell scaled the state rankings by moving to 7 from 51 this week, the biggest jump in Washington Catholic. The Knights were able to make move up by defeating St. Christopher's 33-20.
Bishop O'Connell was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Saints. The Knights came in at 7 in the state poll after placing at number 51 last week.
Bishop McNamara's dynamic duo of Ramar Williams and Jordan Crockett proved to be unstoppable against Silver Oak Academy, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 295 yards and 4 touchdowns and Crockett had 205 yards receiving. Camari Murray helped Bishop McNamara's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 80 yards.
The Mustangs' dynamic duo of Williams and Crockett proved tough for Silver Oak Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Christan Melgar was the best running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 87 yards as Archbishop Carroll topped Kevin Mcleod's team. Keon Singleton also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
Cory Jones was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Lions lost to St. Mary's Ryken. The 6-foot-3 defensive end racked up 3.0 sacks.
He went 16-23 with 1 interceptions.
Williams put up the best numbers through the air as Keith Goganious' team defeated Silver Oak Academy.
Crockett was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs bested Silver Oak Academy.
Bishop McNamara's Williams and Crockett have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Washington Catholic in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Williams has thrown for 897 yards this season, while Crockett has 23 catches for 512 yards. Archbishop Carroll's Melgar leads the league in rushing yards with 306.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Rick Houchens' team and Bishop O'Connell. The Lions enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while the Knights ranks seventh.
St. John's took down Roman Catholic 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
