The L.E.A.D. Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Rocky Bayou Christian. L.E.A.D. Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rocky Bayou Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
L.E.A.D. Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jase Peaden , who scored six points along with seven rebounds, and Donovan Dean who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Devin Hicks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rocky Bayou Christian, scoring 15 points along with nine steals and five assists. The matchup was Hicks' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Calix McCune, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
L.E.A.D. Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L.E.A.D. Academy will face off against Gulf Pointe Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gulf Pointe Latin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday. Rocky Bayou Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Pensacola Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on January 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Pensacola Christian Academy is ranked 587th, while Rocky Bayou Christian is ranked 582nd).
