Tri-County recap Sept. 26, 2012
Pathfinder RVT moved up to 187 from 248 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County. A 31-0 win over Sci-Tech helped the Pioneers improve their standing.
Franklin County Tech was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Eagles vanquished the Eagles 16-8 earlier in the week.
Franklin County Tech's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Werner threw for 11 yards and Nate Boyer had 11 yards receiving. On the ground Jake Earl chipped in 94 yards.
McCann Tech's Justin Cote and Anthony Duprat have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cote has thrown for 99 yards this season, while Duprat, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has three catches for 46 yards. Joseph Gamache's team's Earl leads the league in rushing yards with 293.
A big matchup in Tri-County this week will be when Easthampton/Hampshire takes on Ware. The Eagles are in sixth place, while the Indians are in second place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Hornets and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, McCann Tech comes in having scored 24 this season, while Franklin County Tech has scored 40. Bob LeClair's team scored 8 points last week as it fell to Greenfield.
Pathfinder RVT led the league in scoring this week after putting up 31 points on the CyberCats.
