AAA Region 3 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Thomson extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 3 this week by beating Washington County, 28-14. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Swainsboro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Deantae Johnson has thrown for 213 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Startavious Harmon has seven catches for 111 yards. Johnson also leads the league in rushing with 587 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dodge County takes on the Golden Hawks. The Indians are in third place, while Washington County is in second place.
There should be lots of points scored when Jefferson County and Swainsboro face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Warriors comes in having scored 114 this season, while the Tigers have scored 132.
Dodge County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,574 from 5,774.
