You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's strategy against Cornerstone Family on Tuesday. Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool took down Cornerstone Family 46-30.
Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Laurel Schwensen, who scored 12 points, and Sami Baum, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Holloway, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-14, which was the final score in Blue Ridge Christian's tilt against Heritage Christian on Friday. Blue Ridge Christian was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Despite the loss, Blue Ridge Christian saw an underclassman step up: Risa Johnson scored four points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Blue Ridge Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool against Blue Ridge Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 51-14 victory.
