The Atlantic City Vikings came tearing into Sunday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Pleasantville as Atlantic City made off with a 81-58 win. Atlantic City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Atlantic City to victory were Khajuan Roseborough and Chris Finks. Roseborough scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Finks scored 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Finks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mikel Jones, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and eight assists.
Atlantic City pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Pleasantville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Atlantic City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Mainland Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge. Pleasantville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Cedar Creek is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
