What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Skylar Hicks was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Kamya Brassell was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Hardee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Lemon Bay, falling 11-4.
Hardee also got a good showing from Emalyn Johnston, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Lunna Guajardo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Yareli Duarte, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Avon Park's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hardee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
