You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. Among the action were the efforts of Pickerington North's senior Mike Lowery, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Welcome
The Memorial offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It breezed past Van Wert with a final score of 38 - 6. Memorial made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. Thanks to its success, Memorial cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 24th spot.
Can't Touch This
Bishop Hartley got a 49 - 19 win over Bishop Ready last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jalan January. January rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made January one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Central Catholic (5th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Catholic Central (6th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Central Catholic had all the answers against Catholic Central, winning 34 - 10. Central Catholic saw its record improve to 3-0-1 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
Next Week's Big Game
It should be quite a contest when La Salle (ranked 12th in OH) and Scott County (3rd in KY) face off this week. The last time they met, La Salle walked away with a 28 - 14 win. Will it come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
