On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cathedral beat Assumption 58-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cathedral.
Taylor Lewis was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Triggs, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Cathedral is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Assumption, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cathedral will take on Noblesville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Noblesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday. As for Assumption, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Highlands at 1:45 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Highlands is ranked 47th, while Assumption is ranked 52nd).
