Cardinal Newman is 0-3 against Seminole Ridge since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cardinal Newman Crusaders will welcome the Seminole Ridge Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Cardinal Newman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Cardinal Newman is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Wellington. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since February 19th.

Karis Taleff made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mahoney, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Seminole Ridge's offense. They lost 13-0 to Jupiter on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Seminole Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Coffie, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Seminole Ridge dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.8 runs. As for Cardinal Newman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal Newman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Seminole Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Cardinal Newman might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Seminole Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Cardinal Newman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
