Standley Lake and Mesa Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Standley Lake had to settle for second. The contest between the Standley Lake Gators and the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies didn't end well, with the Standley Lake Gators falling 61-45. The Gators' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Standley Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Schrecengost, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points. Schrecengost has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Derrek Sims was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Mesa Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Lucas, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Riehl, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 18 points and five assists.

Standley Lake's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Mesa Ridge, the win was the 25th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.

Standley Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mesa Ridge, they will take on Windsor at 7:15 p.m. on March 14th. Mesa Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Windsor likes a good challenge.
