While Manila didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Osceola Seminoles with a sharp 18-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Manila's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Osceola, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manila will challenge Newport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manila's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Newport's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Osceola, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Rivercrest at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
