Ville Platte is 5-0 against Beau Chene since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Ville Platte Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Beau Chene Gators at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Ville Platte came up short against North Vermilion and fell 50-41. While losing is never fun, Ville Platte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while North Vermilion is ranked 108th).
Despite the defeat, Ville Platte had strong showings from Janiah Leday, who scored 20 points along with three steals, and raeosha thomas, who scored two points along with six rebounds. Leday scored a full 48.8% of Ville Platte's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Beau Chene had to suffer through a rough 66-2 loss at the hands of JS Clark Leadership Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Beau Chene has scored all season.
Ville Platte's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Beau Chene, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Ville Platte was able to grind out a solid victory over Beau Chene in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 53-42. Will Ville Platte repeat their success, or does Beau Chene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
