The Halls Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Trinity Christian Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Halls will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
16 must be Halls' lucky number: they beat Humboldt with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Vikings 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Britton Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Harrison Hicks was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Wilburn, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Halls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while it was Trinity Christian Academy who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Tipton-Rosemark Academy who put up more. The Lions fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Thomas Thornton was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Trinity Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Brooks, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Halls pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1.
Trinity Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Halls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. It's a different story for Trinity Christian Academy, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Halls' hitters?
Halls might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Trinity Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
