Monadnock has won seven straight games at home, while Prospect Mountain has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Huskies will host the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Monadnock 2.1, Prospect Mountain 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Monadnock will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Fall Mountain on Wednesday. The Huskies walked away with an 11-6 win over the Wildcats. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Autumn Desimone-Jay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shaylee Branon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Dean, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Prospect Mountain faced Newport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Timberwolves won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 3-2.
Alexis Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Paige Harding, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Monadnock's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Prospect Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Monadnock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Prospect Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monadnock suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Prospect Mountain when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
