PITTSFIELD, Mass. -
St. Joseph Central (Pittsfield, Mass.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Pittsfield (Mass.), 36-6, on Saturday.
The Crusaders were up 22-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Jon Bianchi touchdown pass to
Taverick Roberson in the first quarter.
St. Joseph Central expanded its lead to 30 points entering the fourth quarter. SJC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Bianchi to
Mike Carpenter.
Bianchi stood out for the Crusaders in the win. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
The Generals' lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
St. Joseph Central came into the game allowing 12.5 points per game.
SJC also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 32-6.
The loss comes after Pittsfield defeated Sci-Tech 47-8 last week. The loss snapped Pittsfield's 2-game winning streak.
St. Joseph Central (7-2) will play a non-conference game against Cathedral next week, while Pittsfield (4-5) will take on Burke also in a non-conference game.
