You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
Grand Forks Central and Fargo Davies went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (79) among all power ranked teams. Fargo Davies picked up a decisive 'W' against Grand Forks Central, finishing up at 58 - 21. As a result, Fargo Davies rose three spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Lisbon this week as the team hoisted itself up ten places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It got a somewhat close 30 - 26 victory over Northern Cass. The high-scoring offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Lisbon's flat performance last game.
Look Out Below
After a challenging last week, Minot now finds itself down five power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It came up short against Legacy, falling 35 - 27. Given its troubles on the defensive side (averaging 27 allowed points per game), Legacy must have known that it would have to bring in some offensive vigor.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Langdon/Edmore/Munich (7th in the power rankings) and Carrington/Pingree-Buchanan (2nd). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (Langdon/Edmore/Munich has five high-flying games in a row, Carrington/Pingree-Buchanan four), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
