Baseball Recap: Decatur Gets the Win

After only one run in their last game, Decatur made sure to put some runs up on the board against Beamer on Saturday. The Golden Gators' pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Golden Gators, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Julian Boone was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jeremiah Clayton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Decatur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beamer only posted an OBP of .238.

Decatur's record is now 10-1. As for Beamer, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Decatur will challenge rival Enumclaw at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Beamer is set to take on their familiar foe Kentlake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
