Meek hasn't had much luck against Lynn recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Meek Tigers will take on the Lynn Bears in a tournament on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Meek was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Cold Springs.
Skylar Farley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs allowed (all of which were unearned) on six hits.
At the plate, Mason Powe was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan Miles was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lynn put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Dora as Lynn made off with an 18-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Kyler Jordan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that he's scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Dunagan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meek's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Lynn, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Meek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lynn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Meek came up short against Lynn in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, falling 9-4. Will Meek have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
