The Nokomis Warriors will face off against the Maranacook Black Bears at 11:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Nokomis is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.

 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Nokomis sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 23-25, 25-19, 20-25,  15-13.
 Despite their  loss, Nokomis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Jayden Hood, who  had 25  digs and seven  aces, was perhaps the best of all. Hood is  crushing it when it comes to  aces: she's   served at least four every time she's  taken the court this season.
 Even though they lost, Nokomis  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 19  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least eight  aces in five consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Maranacook can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Monday. They put the hurt on Lewiston with a sharp  3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  victory the Black Bears have posted  since October 3, 2023.
 Nokomis now  has a losing record at 2-3. As for Maranacook, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
