Baseball Recap: Lancaster Wins Going Away Against Richland Northeast

Lancaster won the last time they faced Richland Northeast and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lancaster Bruins blew past the Richland Northeast Cavaliers 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Bufford made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Bufford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dayton Hollenbeck was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker McGee, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4.

Lancaster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in five consecutive games.

Lancaster is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Richland Northeast is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Lancaster will challenge A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richland Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against York at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
