Basketball Recap: Gulf Pointe Latin Piles Up the Points Against South Baldwin Christian Academy

A well-balanced attack led Gulf Pointe Latin over South Baldwin Christian Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators blew the South Baldwin Christian Academy Knights out of the water with a 41-12 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Gladiators had established a 28 point advantage.

Gulf Pointe Latin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bethany Crumpler, who posted four points and five steals. What's more, Crumpler also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brionna Lockhart, who put up four points and seven rebounds.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caroline Arthur, who had seven points and seven rebounds. Anna Kate Lee was another key player, putting up two points and nine rebounds.

Gulf Pointe Latin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.1 points per game. As for South Baldwin Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Pointe Latin will square off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Baldwin Christian Academy, they will face off against Atmore Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
