The Lake Oswego Lakers will head out on the road to face off against the Jesuit Crusaders on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Lake Oswego is ranked tenth, while Jesuit is ranked 14th).
Last Friday, Lake Oswego was the victim of a tough 27-7 defeat at the hands of Lakeridge.
Meanwhile, Jesuit had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Beaverton 58-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Jesuit, who have now won three games by 31 points or more so far this season.
Lonnie Burt was on fire: he rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Burt was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Elias Johnson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Lake Oswego's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Jesuit, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Lake Oswego came up short against Jesuit in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 56-49. Can Lake Oswego avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
