Bruton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Poquoson Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Bruton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Islanders in Virginia (the Panthers are ranked 89th, while the Islanders are ranked 364th).
Last Friday, Bruton humbled the Eagles with a 80-52 victory.
It was another big night for Brandon Freeman, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khamani Phillips, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Poquoson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 57-44 to Arcadia.
Bruton's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Poquoson, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Bruton against the Islanders in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 71-44 win. With Bruton ahead 43-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
