Hylton is a perfect 9-0 against Freedom since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hylton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.3 runs per game this season.
Hylton hadn't beaten Gar-Field on the road since May 7, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 23-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Red Wolves: they've now won three in a row.
Alanis Layne made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Layne was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two triples. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

Hylton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gar-Field only posted an OBP of .435.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Freedom finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 15-0 to Potomac Senior. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
Hylton's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Freedom's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hylton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Freedom, though, as they've been averaging 13 hits. Given Hylton's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hylton took their victory against Freedom when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
