3A Region I District 4 recap September 17, 2013
Monahans was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to third in 3A Region I District 4. The Loboes vanquished Randall 21-7 earlier in the week.
Sweetwater scaled the state rankings by moving to 220 from 293 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Breckenridge 51-33.
Felix Martinez was the best receiver in the league this week as Snyder lost to Brownwood. Martinez tallied 4 receptions for 86 yards. Jonathan Garcia helped Snyder's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.
Tobyn Tannehill threw for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 10-21 with 2 interceptions.
Braydin Moreland was the best running back in 3A Region I District 4 this week. He ran for 169 yards on 20 carries as Greenwood fell to the Lions. Teammate Dustin Rea added to the ground attack by rushing for 60 yards.
Tannehill put up the best numbers in passing as Big Spring defeated Lake View. Tannehill's favorite target this week was Tate Kennedy, who caught 3 passes for 83 yards.
Hayden Pulliam was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Rangers lost to Shallowater. The 6-foot-2 senior.
Skillet Rinehart provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Snyder fell to Brownwood. He completed 12 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 152 yards.
The Steers' Tannehill and Devin Roberson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Tannehill has thrown for 423 yards this season, while Roberson has 12 catches for 243 yards. D'vincent Allison from Aubrey Sims' team leads the league in rushing with 484 yards.
Big Spring took down the Chiefs 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tannehill ran for 126 yards during the win.
