The Coolidge Bears waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Benjamin Franklin by a score of 55-45. This was payback for Coolidge, who suffered a 53-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Coolidge found their leader in underclassman Tory Gholston, who scored 23 points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ja'kwan Jordan, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Benjamin Franklin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Christensen. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with three steals. Christensen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Taylor, who scored seven points.
Coolidge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Benjamin Franklin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
