The Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles will square off against the Marquette Sentinels at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Plymouth Christian Academy came out on top against Boyne City on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Ramblers with a sharp 9-2 win. The Eagles have beaten the Ramblers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Ramblers has come to flipping the script.

Like Plymouth Christian Academy, Marquette also got a great game from a two-way player: Cece Fuller. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Fuller was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Charlye Swajanen was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Dewitt, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Marquette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Marquette pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, their record is now 16-7.
Both Plymouth Christian Academy and Marquette just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Marquette struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
