The Wardlaw Academy Patriots had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. Their tough 49-26 defeat to Curtis Baptist on Monday might stick with them for a while. Wardlaw Academy lost against Curtis Baptist in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-23 score last time.
Curtis Baptist found their leader in underclassman Maci Butler, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Mia Price was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 steals.
Wardlaw Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Curtis Baptist, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wardlaw Academy will take on Our Lady of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Curtis Baptist, they will be playing at home against Mead Hall Episcopal School at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
