While losing is never fun, Roanoke-Benson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while Flanagan-Cornell is ranked 211th).
Kesler Collins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Flanagan-Cornell, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Collins' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ruddy, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Roanoke-Benson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Flanagan-Cornell, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Roanoke-Benson and Prairie Central will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Prairie Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Flanagan-Cornell and Reed-Custer will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
