Basketball Recap: Mundy's Mill Drops Highest Score of Season Against River Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mundy's Mill). They strolled past the River Ridge Royal Knights with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 98-79. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 224th in Georgia, while the Royal Knights are ranked 472nd in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mundy's Mill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Gray, who went 10 for 12 on his way to 29 points and six steals. Gray's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ryan Babb was another key player, going 9 of 13 on his way to 26 points along with six assists and six boards.

Despite the loss, River Ridge still got an impressive performance from Jacob Yeager, who went 10 of 19 on his way to 32 points and three steals. Yeager is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Casarez, who posted ten points.

Mundy's Mill's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for River Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Mundy's Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-57 win against Northside on the 3rd. As for River Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 89-74 victory against Pasco on the 8th.
