The Weddington Warriors can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 78-40 win over Sun Valley on the road. Winning may never get old, but Weddington sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Leading Weddington to victory were Grant Hamilton and KJ Younger. Hamilton scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Younger scored 25 points along with two steals. Younger hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. Jake Ford was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Sun Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady I turriff, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Tavares, who scored 12 points.
Weddington pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Sun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Weddington will head out on the road to square off against Cuthbertson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weddington is facing Cuthbertson at the right time seeing as Cuthbertson is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Sun Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Monroe is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.
