Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Preble Shawnee made sure to put some runs up on the board against Twin Valley South on Monday. The Arrows put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering the Arrows have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Mattie Colburn made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Claire Schroeder was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Lyla Ford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Preble Shawnee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Twin Valley South only managed two.
Franklin Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Preble Shawnee, their record now sits at 5-2.
