Baseball Game Preview: Pinewood Prep Panthers vs. Porter-Gaud Cyclones

Porter-Gaud will be up against a hot Pinewood Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Pinewood Prep blew past Northwood Academy 14-2 on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

At the plate, Finley Taylor and Camden Abernathy did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Abernathy scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four hits gave Taylor a new career-high. Christopher Kabine was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Pinewood Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood Academy only posted an OBP of .417.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Porter-Gaud). They walked away with a 10-6 win over Academic Magnet on Thursday.

Porter-Gaud's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pinewood Prep, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
