They took down Christ the King 65-48. Given Community School of Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Christ the King is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Community School of Davidson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Moran, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of John Shields, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Christ the King lost, one person who can't be blamed is Parker Ryan. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marco Tampoya, who scored six points.
Community School of Davidson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Christ the King, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will challenge Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Langtree Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Christ the King, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 225 points over their last three matches.
