It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Pass Christian Pirates ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over Greene County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pass Christian also won the last time the pair played on January 12th.
Greene County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rakhiya Moody, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Moody hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was ShaNya McLeod, who scored ten points along with nine steals.
Pass Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. As for Greene County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13.
Pass Christian will play host again and welcome Pearl River Central, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greene County, they will head out on the road to square off against Moss Point at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Moss Point's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Greene County's offense will have their work cut out for them.
