Highland and Hobart are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Trojans will host the Brickies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Highland will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Hammond Bishop Noll on Saturday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Skylar Zoeteman made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Boyd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 8-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
Valparaiso hit Hobart with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Brickies lost 15-4 to the Vikings.
Taylor Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Ladan Weinman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Highland's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Hobart, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Highland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .445. However, it's not like Hobart struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Highland took their victory against Hobart in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 14-8 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brickies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
