Given Canutillo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 589th, while Horizon is ranked 1240th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Canutillo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Lopez out in front who scored 11 points along with 7 steals. Rebekah Perez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 steals and 4 blocks.
Canutillo is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
